Original description: Test rhomboid or fan-shaped in the adult, in the early stages biserial and in the very early stages of the microspheric form probably planispiral; chambers globular, in a single plane, early ones biserial, later ones added in series, alternating in position with the preceding ones; sutures distinct, depressed; wall calcareous, perforate, ornamented with broken, longitudinal ridges; aperture in the biserial stage in the inner margin, in the adult two openings, one on either side of the chamber near the base.
