4. SEARCH SUMMARY
NOTES ON USE OF THIS FORM
Within taxon
- this limits search to a taxon and its sub-taxa - e.g. "Heterohelicidae" will limit search to heterohelicids. You can use part of name only e.g. "helicid".
Citation includes
- search for any part of the formal citation of a taxon, e.g. author name or publication date.
Age window
- limit search to a stratigraphic interval.
In the text boxes you can use * or % as wildcards to match multiple characters and ? or _ to match single characters
To explore the meaning of the character states it is best to select options from only one box.
It would be possible to give results in different formats if users would like this. Suggestions welcome!
It may be necessary to limit the number of images generated if the routine makes heavy demands on the server.
The form does sometimes behave a bit erratically - if this happens try using the "Reset form" option.
