Original Description

Mitral and basal rings, as well as the sagittal ring, of the same form as in the preceding nearly allied species. The two lateral columellae are prolonged not only downwards into two short, vertical feet, but also upwards into two curved bows, which are united in a vertical ascending horn, arising from the apical pole of the sagittal ring.

Size:
Diameter of the cube 0.14; total height 0.21.

Editors' Notes
Haeckel listed Acrocubus arcuatus under the subgeneric name Diplocubus, but did not include the subgeneric name in the species name.

The \preceding nearly allied species\" refers to Acrocubus amphisytlus Haeckel 1887a.

see also p.891: It is clear from the family discussion ofTympanida (pp.987-990) that Haeckel meant to assign the following key to the letters not mentioned in the explanation of p.891; q = frontal or lateral ring; s = horizontal basal ring; m = horizontal mitral ring. The inverted \"a\" is used indiscrimately by Haeckel with no explanation."[comment from RadWorld database]
