Original Description

Mitral ring of the same size as the basal ring; both rings square, smooth, with straight outlines. Sagittal ring also square, smooth. Four columellae straight. Nodal points without radial spines. The shell has the form of a regular geometrical cube, the edges of which are represented by the rings.

Height of the frontal ring 100µm, breadth 110µm.

There was no illustration of this species in Haeckel (1887)
Haeckel listed Acrocubus tesseralis under the subgeneric name Apocubus, but did not include the subgeneric name in the species name.
