Original Description Gate square. Ring square, with three edges and four short simple pyramidal spines on the four corners, opposite in pairs in two perpendicular diameters. Transverse section triangular. Size: Diameter of the gate 0.08; thickness of the ring 0.008. Editors' Notes There was no illustration of this species in Haeckel (1887) Haeckel listed Archicircus quadratus under the subgeneric name Archistephus, but did not include the subgeneric name in the species name.[comment from RadWorld database]
