Original Description

2b. Tribus: Staurocyclida. Coccodiscida aculeata, aculeis marginalibus in plano aequatoriali sitis et e margine lentis radiantibus (sed sine brachiis cameratis).
D. aculeis multis marginalibus (quinque aut pluribus, plerumque sine ordine radiantibus).
AI. testa med. simplici.

Translation:

2b. Tribe: Staurocyclida. Spined Coccodiscida, with marginal spines situated in the equatorial plane and radiating from the margin of the lens (but without chambered arms).
D. With many marginal spines (five or more, usually radiating without definite arrangement).
