Original Description

1b. Tribus: Heliodiscida. Phacodiscida aculeata cum aculeis marginalibus in plano lentis
aequatoriali sitis.
D. aculeis multis marginalibus (quinque aut pluribus, plerumque sine ordine in zona aequatoriali radiantibus).
DII. testa med. duplici (aculeis omnibus simplicibus).
IIb. testae superficie spinosa.

Translation:
1b. Tribe: Heliodiscida. Spined Phacodiscida, with marginal spines situated in the equatorial plane of the lens.
D. With many marginal spines (five or more, usually radiating in the equatorial zone without definite arrangement).
DII. With double medullary shell (all spines simple).
IIb. With the surface of the test spiny. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]
