[Lenticular cortical shell not exactly circular, spines of the equatorial plane very different, sometimes they are regular as in Heliodiscus humboldti Ehr., sometimes they are leaf-stalk and longer. Medullary shell ellipsoidal with a major axis approximately as long as 1/3 of the diameter of the cortical shell; it is linked to the cortical shell by 4 irregular transverse beams. Pores of the cortical shell small and bars nearly double in size. (Translation from German by J.P.C.)]
