Translation: The new genus Lithamphora is close to the genus Poroamphora. By their external shape, these Stichocyrtida are also representatives of the Lithocampidae. As in Poroamphora, there is an internal spicule inside the four-, and more, segmented shell, that I have been unable, until now, to recognize precisely, because the shell and cytoplasm were not sufficiently transparent in the specimens observed. A more precise observation by removal of some parts of the shell was impossible as specimens were already included into Canada Balsam. Anyway, a dorsal spine upwardly directed protrudes above the cephalis, and two apical spines, that are linked, on their superior part, in a single branch end, as in Poroamphora, on the middle of the first of the abdominal segment. It is because of this branched apical spine, that remains simple in many other species, that this new genus was erected with a single species. It seems that the other spines of the internal spicule (in case they would be different from the furcate apical spine) would include two lateral, a ventral and a dorsal spine (this last one should be more easily recognizable). Most of the observed specimens were development stages, one of them seemed, however, to have a fully developed shell with a closed lower part. (In German. Translation by J.P.C.)]
