Original Description

Corpuscula disciformia, media parte nucleata, margine lato vage aut concentrice celluloso. (Mixta).
Cellula media ampla nucleata, marginales tenues in seriebus concentricis aut Spongiosae ordine nullo orbicularia.

Translation:
Small, disc-shaped body, median part nucleate, with a sometimes wide or concentrically cellular margin. (Mixed). Median chamber wide and nucleate, margin delicate with concentric rows or irregular spongy. Circular. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]

Etymology:
From the Greek lithocyclia = circular stone
