Original Description

2a. Tribus: Triplectida. Skeleto viminali, aculeis tribus ramosis composito, quorum rami caliti vimentum laxum formant.
A.vimento regulari, tribus aculeis ordine dispositis.
A II. Aculeis tribus costas pyramidis triangl. formantibus, cujus tria lat. vimentum occupat.

Translation:
2a. Tribe: Triplectida. Skeleton wicker-like, composed of three branched spines, the branches of which coalesce to form a loose wickerwork.
A. Wickerwork regular, the three spoines regularly aranged.
AII. The three spines forming the ribs of a triangular pyramid, of which wickerwork occupies
three sides. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]

From the Greek plectanium = small wickerwork or network"
