Current identification/main database link: Stichopilium anocor Renz 1976
Original Description
Type locality: 11° N, 155°W, plankton, 125-200 m.
Remarks: This species is most closely related to those in the subgenus Stichopilidium Haeckel, but differs from them by possessing five segments (not 6, 10, or 12), a sub- spherical cephalis with a corona of spines, and three very simple wings. Haeckel does not describe any species with undulating segments. The specific name anocor is an anagram of the word corona.
