Original description: Small, subspherical outer shell with large circular pores set in hexagonal frames. 3-7 short, three-edged spines; 2 major spines at opposite poles, other shorter spines clustered near the poles. Only a single, spherical inner shell seen (average ratio of minor axes = 1:1.5).
