Translated description: Shell in the form of a weakly convex dome widely pierced by 4-5 rows of pores. The lower row of pores begins to split into smaller cells; the edge of the shell opening is irregularly incised, with 10-12 short spines protruding backwards. The apex of the dome has three deeply branched spines with 3-4 sharp branches on each. A very small number of short straight spines depart obliquely backward from the bars of the shell.
It should be noted that one of the apical needles is directed straight upward and three-branched, while the other needle is derived from a common base with the preceding one and goes obliquely downward from the dome. Of the 4 branches of this needle, 3 go away from the body, while the fourth goes obliquely toward the dome and then, bending away from the dome, runs almost parallel to its surface, reaching with its tip almost to the lower edge of the dome. Parallel to the dome surface, a segment of THIS needle is connected by two crossbars perpendicular to the dome surface with the crossbars of the lattice wall of the dome. The third apical needle of that wall of the dome. The third apical needle has approximately the same arrangement as the second, but consists of only 2 branches; one of them simply runs obliquely downward parallel to the surface of the dome, the other is further away from the wall of the dome, but is connected to it by a crossbar in the form of an air arch. The shell height is 0.14, width 0.10 mm. The head section is poorly visible, which is why the identification made raises some doubts.
Found 1 specimen at a depth of 500-0 m.

Remarks on original description: Arachnocorys dubius Dogiel and Reshetnyak, 1952 is not included here because it was transferred by Matsuzaki et al., 2015 to the genus Cryptogyrus given that it does not fit the definition of Arachnocorys. [Trubovitz et al. 2022]
Reason to move to Cryptogyrus unclear as defining characters of Cryptogyrus, particularly basal ring PR do not seem to be present in Dogiel's drawing. [dbl]
