Original description: Sagittal ring D-shaped, joined directly to the back of lattice shell. Basal and sagittal rings constricted indistinctly. Thorax subcylindrical with a slight constriction at mouth. Six basal pores separated by two primary and two secondary lateral bars. Pores circular to sub-circular, small. densely spaced on the cephalis, less densely spaced on the thorax. Shell bearing small conical spines at apex of cephalis in some specimens, terminated by teeth of irregular sizes.
Remarks on original description: Chen described this species twice - in IRDSDP vol 28 and Micropaleontology part 20/4. Both publications have cover dates of 1974 but actually were published in 1975 and the Micropaleontology volume is generally considered to be the valid publication. The images are typically the same in both, but the text is slighlty different. [JRY 2023]
