Catalog entries: Lychnocanoma costata
Original description: Shell of two segments. Cephalis small, subhemispherical with a few small circular pores, bearing a stout or thin conical apical horn. Collar structure indistinct externally, internally with three large and two small collar pores. Cephalic structure has A, V, MB, two L, two l and D; two L and D extend to three feet along the inside of wall as internal ribs. Thorax large, inflated campanulate with many well-developed costae which begin at the base of the cephalis or on the proximal thorax. Between adjacent costae are longitudinal rows of small, circular pores. In the proximal part of the thorax the pores are irregular in size and form, and the costae are inconstant. Three feet depending from the distalmost thorax are cylindrical, slightly curved outward, divergent distally and sometimes forming a ring by branches.
Remarks on original description: The following species is assigned with great hesitation to this genus because of possessing different cephalic structures than the other species of the genus.
