Original description: Spherical shell extremely big and robust, composed of a single piece of coarse lattice-work, the thick bars of which are stratified and contain partly a fine axial-canal, meshes of the network usually irregularly polygonal, no astral septa in the nodal points.

Description

Published descriptions

Lazarus et al. 2021 -

Large to very large polyhedral to subspherical shells composed usually of two types of
irregular lattice bands, thicker and thinner, criss-crossing to form irregular polygonal pores. Thick,
circular in cross-section external spines attach to thicker lattice bands and arranged at varying
degrees from fully radial to tangental to the shell surface, and often have external buttresses. Inner
structure reduced to a few thin beams connected via terminal branches to a small median bar.
