Original description: Das als Textfigur 76 dargestellte Radiolar schien mir auch zum Genus Phorticium gehörig und würde wegen der Kleinheit der Schale, der vieleckigen Poren und vor allem der dünnen langen Stacheln wegen, welche in ihrem äußeren Teil dieselbe Länge erreichen wie der Längsdurchmesser der Kortikalschale, eine neue Art bilden, für die ich den Namen Phorticium multispinum vorschlage.
Translated description: The radiolarian shown as text figure 76 also seemed to me to belong to the genus Phorticium and would be a new species because of the smallness of the shell, the polygonal pores and, above all, the thin, long spines, which in their outer part reach the same length as the longitudinal diameter of the cortical shell form, for which I propose the name Phorticium multispinum.
