Description

Distinguishing features:
Parent taxon (Plagiacanthidae):
This taxon: One or two segmented forms with external spines usually connected by panels or arches of lattice wall.


Morphology:

De Wever et al. 2001: Dicyrtid nassellarians with well developed spines A, D and L and arches AD and AL. Usually spines D and L may form ribs, or wings, and the space between them may be fenestrated, or D, L and A may be interconnected by lattice panels.
