Original description: Forma superficie integra hemisphaerica poris amplioribus perforata, radiis internis 4, duobus longissime exsertis oppositis ensiformibus, totidem inclusis. Medusae affinis. Diam. disci 1/28"', radiorum exsertae partis utrinque pari fere longitudine, totius 1/12"'.

[A form of Haliomma with the completely hemispherical surface perforated by large pores; internal radial bars 4, two opposite ones projecting a long distance and ensiform, the other two not projecting. Related to H.medusa. Diameter of the disc 80m; total length including the spines projecting on both sides, 185m. (Translation from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.) ]
Remarks on original description: Spelling in chart (p.64) differs (H. dixiphos)
