Original description: Generally conical (50° in upper part, later 30° thence, reduced inverted, to 18°) shell having but little significant changes in contour at the levels of the shell-divisions or between them; having a short (less than 0.2 total length), often tipped, 3-bladed, prismatic pointed apical horn fused basally with the top of the obscured conical cephalis (length about the same as that of the horn); cephalis and thorax conical in continued contour; waist line marked by a narrow, transverse, internal band and with but little local constriction; abdomen inverted, truncate-conical; oral margin ragged (torn?); pores of all 3 shell-divisions similarly circular to elliptical, generally of about the same size, without raised polygonal frames but within individual concave areas.
Remarks on original description: The authors here list Calocyclas litos under the subgeneric name Calocycletta and include the subgeneric name in the species name.[comment from RadWorld database]
