Original description: 1a. Tribus: Acrospyrida. Triospyrida acuta, cum spina apicali (vel occipitali).
C. spina apicali triplici (media occipitali, duabus parietalibus).
CII. pedibus tribus ramosis.

Translated description: la. Tribe: Acrospyrida. Acute Triospyrida, with apical (or occipital) spine.
C. With a triple apical spine (one median occipital, and two parietal) .
CII. With three branched feet. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]
Remarks on original description: [Campbell [1954, p.D112] considers Triceraspyris Haeckel, 1881a to be an objective synonym of Triospyris Haeckel, 1881a. He designates Triceraspyris tripodiscus Haeckel, 1887a, p.1030 as the type species of Triospyris and only by inference of Triceraspyris. Therefore, we consider the type species designation of Triceraspyris tripodiscus for Triceraspyris to date from Chediya [1959, p.177]].
