Remarks on original description: [Campbell [1954, p.D112] considers Triceraspyris Haeckel, 1881a to be an objective synonym of Triospyris Haeckel, 1881a. He designates Triceraspyris tripodiscus Haeckel, 1887a, p.1030 as the type species of Triospyris and only by inference of Triceraspyris. Therefore, we consider the type species designation of Triceraspyris tripodiscus for Triceraspyris to date from Chediya [1959, p.177]].
