Original Description
Variety differs from typical form in having, in addition to two opposite polar spines, two others at about 110° from each other, radially directed from center of shell and with one spine on each side of one of polar spines, these accessory spines lacking at sides of opposite polar spine; these spines short, narrow, thornlike, and distally sharp.

Length, total, 270µm, of polar spine, 100µm, of accessory spine, 11µm. Distinguishing characters (rw): Medullary shell somewhat smaller than in typical form, and the few minor differences may be individual variations.
