Original Description

1. Subfamlia: Artiscida.. Zygartida Simplicia, sine testa medullari. Testa clathrata simplici ellipsoide, medio constricta.
B. cum processibus axis principalis.
BII. duobus tubulis porosis oppositis.

Translation:
1. Subfamily: Artiscida. Simple Zygartida, without medullary shell. With simple ellipsoidal latticed shell, constricted in the middle.
B. With processes in the principal axis.
BII. With two opposite porous tubules. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]

Etymology:
Greek cannartus = loaf with tubes"
