Original Description Gate hexagonal or subcircular. Ring hexagonal, with two sharp prominent edges and six pairs of divergent spines, about as long as the radius of the gate, and arising from the two edges at the six corners. The two apical and the two basal spines are simple and conical, whilst the eight other spines, arising in pairs from the two dorsal and the two ventral corners, are slightly forked. Size: Diameter of the gate 0.06 to 0.08; thickness of the ring 0.01 to 0.015 Editors' Notes Haeckel listed Archicircus sexangularis under the subgeneric name Archistephus, but did not include the subgeneric name in the species name. Questionably synonymized with Lithocircus reticulatus.[comment from RadWorld database]
