Original Description

Poren rundlich, etwas unregelmäßig. Balkenbreite übertrifft den Porendurchmesser. Beinahe in jedem Knotenpunkt ein kegelförmiger Stachel mit kreisrundem Querschnitt, von ein Viertel der Radiuslänge. Manchmal Unregelmäßigkeiten, insofern die Stacheln paarweise beinahe in ganzer Länge durch ein Kieselband verbunden sind.

Shell diameter 120µm, pores 2-5µm; bars 5-10µm; length of spines 20µm. Distinguishing characters (rw): Durch das Verhältnis von Porendurchmesser zu Balkenhreite von allen anderen Arten unterschieden.
