[Sphere thin-walled, meshes almost regular with 5-6 angles, not so much of different sizes (10-16µm), with thin bars (1-1.5µm) of uniform size (not clearly thickened at angles). On all node frames, needle-shaped secondary spines approximately as long as the radius (37-45µm). (In German. Translated by J.P.C.)]
Shell diameter 81 to 83µm. Distinguishing characters (rw): Sieht der Leptosphaera arachnoides sehr ähnlich, scheint aber der feinen arachnoidalen Hülle vollständig zu entbehren.
