Original Description
Acrobotrys with three sagittal tubes (an apical, a caudal, and a sternal)

Editors' Notes
Although described as a sub-genus by Haeckel, Acrobotrissa has been used as a genus in the description of the species listed here.

Synonymized with Botryopyle Haeckel, by Petrushevskaya, 1971b, p.161; 1975c, p.589; but considered as a subjective synonym of Acrobotrys Haeckel by Petrushevskaya 1981a]
