Original Description
Both arms equal, lanceolate, in the middle part three times as broad as at the two ends, two and a half times as long as broad, with eight to nine transverse septa, at the distal end blunt, without a terminal spine.
Radius of each arm 300µm, greatest breadth 90µm.

There was no illustration of this species in Haeckel (1887)
Haeckel listed Amphibrachium lanceolatum under the subgeneric name Amphibrachella, but did not include the subgeneric name in the species name.
