Original Description
Both arms equal, in the proximal larger half simple, in the distal smaller half forked; each branch triangular, with a strong conical terminal spine. Axis of the branches straight. (Resembles Dicranastrum cornutum, Pl. 45, fig. 2, but without lateral arms.)

Radius of the arms (without spines) 150µm, basal breadth 30µm ; breadth of the bifurcation 80µm.

There was no illustration of this species in Haeckel (1887)
For Amphirrhopalum read Amphirhopalum. For Amphirrhopella read Amphirhopella.

Haeckel listed Amphirhopalum bigeminum under the subgeneric name Amphirhopella, but did not include the subgeneric name in the species name.
