Original Description

Cephalis spherical, poreless, bearing two small conical spines, one apical and the other vertical. Collar stricture distinct. Thorax conical, or conical in the upper part and cylindrical in the lower part, with small, circular, longitudinally disposed pores of regular size; wall of medium thickness, covered by small spines in some specimens. Lumbar stricture marked by a distinct change in contour. Abdomen short. cylindrical with sub-circular to ovate pores of various dimensions. Shell terminated by 5-8 teeth of irregular sizes.


Size:
(Dimensions: Based on 20 specimens from 266-1 2-2, 100-102 cm.; and 266-15-3, 50-52 cm.) Length of cephalis 18-27µm. length of thorax 80-95µm. Width of thorax 117-125µm.

Distinguishing characters: This species is characterized by its abundant and delicate pores on the thorax, and by its terminal teeth.

Editors' Notes
Chen described this species twice - in IRDSDP vol 28 and Micropaleontology part 20/4. Both publications have cover dates of 1974 but actually were published in 1975 and the Micropaleontology volume is generally considered to be the valid publication. The images are typically the same in both, but the text is slighlty different. [JRY 2023]
