Original Description Shell tall and stately, with general narrow proportions; apical horn long (0.34 total length), narrow, conical (2°), its tip sharp; cephalis conical (50°), the apex narrowly rounded, and the base 1.37 the height in diameter; thorax a bulging basal segment of an apically truncated cone (approximately 40°), sometimes slightly asymmetrical; abdomen a tall cylinder (slightly longer than the apical horn in length), with slightly bulging sides rather suddenly contracted (asymmetrically 40°) in the apertural 0.3, the aperture itself with a diameter of about the same as the septal band, and with the apertural margin irregularly toothed with incurved prongs; wall and surface similar to C. extensa n. sp., save that the depressions into which the pores are set are more deeply directed toward the aperture than distally. Size: Length of shell, 250µm; of horn, 73.8µm; of cephalis, 38.6µm; of thorax, 51.8µm; diameter of septal band, 78.2µm; of pores, 4.4-10.0µm. Extra details from original publication Distinguishing characters: This variety differs from the typical form of C. extensa n. sp. in general shape, being narrower and tall and less robust, and also in the contraction of the abdomen above the aperture; in the former, the shell is generally bell-shaped and without contraction. Editors' Notes [The authors here list this species under the subgeneric name Calocycletta and include the subgeneric name in the species name.
