Original Description
Similar to the nominate subspecies, except that the upper lateral part of each of the two cephalic lobes is somewhat drawn out and perforated by a wide opening surrounded by irregular teeth.

Etymology: The subspecfic name is used as a noun in apposition (dasys, tufted; otos, ear).
