Remarks on original description: [Campbell [1954, p.D127] subsequently designated Sethamphora hexapleura Haeckel, 1887a as the type species for Dictyoprora Haeckel, 1881a, and on p.D128 he designated Dictyocephalus amphora Haeckel,1887a, as the type species for ""Dictyoprora Haeckel [1887, p.1350] [non Haeckel,1882]"". However, in suggesting the replacement name Streptodelus for Dictyoprora [1887a, p.1305] he apparently overlooked Haeckel's errata [1887a, p.1764] correcting Dictyoprora [1887a, p.1250] to Dictyoprona Haeckel, 1887a. This indicates that Haeckel considered Dictyoprora to be a subsequent reference to his 1881a genus, rather than Dictyoprora [p.1250] as indicated by Campbell. Therefore, the type species of Dictyoprora Haeckel,1881a is here considered to be Dictyocephalus amphora Haeckel, 1887a, p.1305, pl.62, fig.4, x400.]
