Original description: [3-segmented, smooth; cephalis globose and slightly porous, frontal spine strong, median rib delicate. Second segment slightly broader, subcampanulate. Third segment contracted at both ends, strongly swollen in the middle, passing into a long, open, porous tube, with numerous irregular pores, larger and biserial in the tube. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]

Length without spine 205um, of spine 25 µm, of cephalis 23 µm, of second segment 29 µm, of third segment 150 µm, of tube 62 µm. Approx. 3 pores in 23µm. Maximum width 90µm. Distinguishing characters (rw): Compare E. sipho and E. tubulus.
