Original Description
3a. Tribus: Taurospyrida. Tetraspyrida acuta, cum spina apicali.
B. spinis apicalibus tribus (media occipitali, duabus parietalibus).
BI. pedibus simplicibus.

Translation: 3a. Tribe: Taurospyrida. Acute Tetraspyrida, with apical spine.
B. With three apical spines (one median and occipital, and two parietal).
BI. With simple feet. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]

Editors' Notes
Although described as a sub-genus by Haeckel, Giraffospyris has been used as a genus in the description of the species listed here.
