Original Description
Lamprotripus with a rather indistinct symmetry of the elernents of the inner skeleton, which therefore were hard to homologize (fig. 50, III, V) . The wall is penetrated not by three ribs, which correspond to spines D, Lr and Ll, but by four or five instead. The edge of the thorax is not differentiated.

(Based on 3 specimens) Width of I segment 25-30µm; II segment up to 60µm. Distinguishing characters (rw): L. quinqueradiatus differs from L. bütschlii (1) (fig. 50, I) in the irregular distribution of the spines of the inner skeleton, in the irregularly distributed pores on the thorax, as well as in that the edge of the thorax is not differentiated. From another, probably new species, Lamprotripus sp. (fig. 50, VI, VII) it differs in the same characteristic features as from L. bütschlii, and in addition also in its smaller size. Besides, there is a special characteristic feature in Lamprotripus sp., namely a bifurcated horn on the apex of the cephalis, not connected with spine A.

(1) Haeckel (Haeckel, 1887), who described L. bütschlii as a new species, also indicated that he formerlv had described it as L. horridus Hck., 1881; however, a description of the latter had not been published.
