Original Description
Variety differs from typical form in much smaller dimensions, relatively thick wall, smaller medullary shell with small pores; and shorter, more widely conical (upward of 10°) polar spines.
Length, total, 180µm, of polar spines, 40µm (perhaps tipped). Distinguishing characters (rw): Intergrades with much larger and slightly different typical form of species. Abundant in several samples.
