Original Description Rauhe, gedrungen zapfenförmige Schale, durch 4 seichte Stricturen in 5 Theile getheilt, die von oben bis zum 4. Gliede gleichmässig an Breite zunehmen, so dass am 4. Gliede die grösste Breite ist. Dann zieht sich die Schale plötzlich zusammen, und trägt unten den Ansatz einer Basalmündung, die nur 2/5 so gross ist als der grösste Breitendurchmesser. Verhältniss der Breite zur ganzen Länge 5/8½. Erstes Glied halbkugelförmig und halb so lang als jedes der folgenden Glieder; zweites, drittes und viertes tonnenförmig, das fünfte bildet einen gewölbten Boden mit Basalmündung. Die runden gleichen Gitterlöcher sehr regelmässig in alternirenden Vertikalreihen geordnet; ihre Grösse ist 1/25 des Breitendurchmessers, Zwischenbalken 1½ mal so breit. [Shell rough, stout pin-shaped, divided by 4 shallow strictures into 5 segments progressively widening from the top to the 4th segment that is the widest. Below, the shell abruptly narrows to the basal segment under which there is an opening as wide as 2/5 of the maximum width. Ratio of the width to the total length as 5/8½. First segment half cupola-shaped and half as high as any of the following segments; second, third and fourth segments barrel-shaped, fifth segment making a vaulted bottom with the opening. Uniform circular pores distributed in regular alternating vertical rows, as wide as 1/25 of the maximum width, bars 1½ as wide. (In German. Translated by J.P.C.)]
