Original Description
Variety differs from typical in much greater elongation, narrowness of shell (2.3-25 maximum diameters in length), less median inflation, and longer subcylindrical apertural section.

Length, total, up to 140µm; diameter, maximum, 50µm.

[Campbell and Clark here list the variety under the subgeneric name Lithocampium and include the subgeneric name in the species name.
