Original Description
1b. Tribus: Xiphostylida. Monosphaeria dissacantha (aculeis duobus oppositis, in uno axi sitis).
A. aculeis liberis, non annulo conjunctis.
AII. ambob. aculeis inaequal, forma aut magnitidine diversis.
IIb. altero aculeo simplici, altero spinarum fasciculo basali circumdato.

Translation: 1b. Tribe: Xiphostylida. Monosphaeria with two spines (two opposite spines, situated in one axis).
A. With spines free, not joined by a ring.
AII. With the two spines unequal, differing in form or size.
IIb. With one spine simple, the other surrounded at the base by a cluster of spines. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]
