Original description: Zu dieser Gruppe stelle ich eine Anzahl von Ehrenberg unter Eucyrtidium aufgeführter Formen, welche sich den eigentlichen Eucyrtidien auch aufs innigste anschließen. Sie zeichnen sich durch ihre Vielgliedrigkeit aus (bis neungliedrig beobachtet), weiterhin jedoch namentlich dadurch, dass die Glieder successive an Durchmesser anwachsen, so dass die Gesammtgestalt eine sehr schlank-kegelförmige wird. Ob auch hier schließlich eine Zusammenziehung des Mündungsendes sich findet, ist zweifelhaft. Angedeutet ist eine solche nur bei Euc. argus Ehbg. und zwar erst am vierten oder fünften Glied.
Translated description: In this group, I place some forms that are strongly related to the eucyrtids and were listed by Ehrenberg in the genus Eucyrtidium. They are characterized by many segments (up to nine segments observed), that present, moreover, progressively enlarging diameters, so that the shape of the shell is a narrow cone. The occurrence of a terminal narrowing of the apertural end of the shell is dubious. This is the case of Eucyrtidium argusEhrenberg, from the first to the fourth or fifth segment. (In German.
