Original Description
Translation:
Description. On half of the circumference in the upper part of the cephalis 6-9 pores. In the area of the "neck" and on the entire thorax, the walls are double or even triple, spongy, up to 8-20 microns thick. The pores on the surface of the spongy layer are rounded, of different sizes, and arranged randomly. The width of the cephalis in the upper part is about 25–45 µm, its height (from MB) is 38–46 µm, the length of the thorax is up to 100 (or more) µm, and the maximum width is about 90–100 µm. Aperture narrowed, open. Needles A, D, L and their processes pass through the walls of the thorax like ribs.
Distribution. Eocene: Norwegian Sea and northern regions of Western Siberia.
Note. Shells without a spongy layer are quite typical of Lophophaena. The structure and dimensions of the cells of the spongy layer are very similar to those of the genus Botryocyrtis Ehr., 1860. The specimens from Western Siberia are distinguished by a slightly shorter cephalis. [Google Translate]
