Original Description
Eight divergent columellae, about as long as the diameter of the octagonal mitral ring, connect it with the larger circular basal ring, and bear at each end a divergent, strong, conical spine. Lattice-plate of both rings slightly convex, with numerous subregular circular pores, smooth, without surface spines.

Breadth of the mitral ring 0.06, of the basal ring 0.09.

It is clear from the family discussion ofTympanida (pp.987-990) that Haeckel meant to assign the following key to the letters in the above illustration; s = horizontal basal ring; m = horizontal mitral ring
