Original Description
All five arms equal, club-shaped, at their thickened obtuse end three times as broad as at their base, twice as long as broad. Angles between the arms equal.

Size: Radius of each arm 0.2, basal breadth 0.03, distal breadth 0.08.

Editors' Notes
There was no illustration of this species in Haeckel (1887)
Haeckel listed Pentalastrum asteracanthion under the subgeneric name Pentalastrella, but did not include the subgeneric name in the species name.[comment from RadWorld database]
