Original Description

Bars thin, cylindrical, each divided at the distal end into three branches, connected by thin threads into a delicate polyhedral network.

Shell diameter 80µm.

Etymology:
Latin "simplex" (-plicis) = simple

Editors' Notes
Frenguelli (1951, p.281) indicates this species is a silicoflagellate.
