Original Description
Shell commonly of 2 segments. Cephalis large, dome-shaped. Pores of cephalis tend to become occluded by shell material so cephalis is essentially imperforate; when present, pores are small, subcircular, quincuncially arranged, and depressed into polygonal pore frames which remain prominent after pores are sealed. Collar stricture well defined. Thorax large, hemispherical, perforate, with 3 feet arising from distalmost portion. Pores of thorax small; sub-circular; recessed into center of large, polygonal pore frames; and arranged in moderately to well-defined longitudinal rows. Polygonal pore frames commonly with 6 sides and bordered by an elevated rim. Feet somewhat convex outward and projecting down from base of thorax, broad, massive, often expanding distally, with scalloped edges, equally spaced.
Size: (Dimensions of holotype) Total length of shell (without feet) 77µm, of cephalis 19µm, maximum width 93µm.
Etymology: The specific name comes from the German \echt\" = genuine, true, real."
