Original Description
Variety differs from typical form chiefly in smaller dimensions, more slender conical shell (about 7°), generally narrower shell proportions, and in relatively larger pores.
Length, total, 140µm; diameter of aperture, 30µm. Distinguishing characters (rw): Sethoconus woodfordi advena n. var. shows less graduation between upper and lower cones of thorax than typical form of species. Much less common, and typical form occurs with it.
Etymology: No information given, but: Latin advena -ae = a newcommer, outsider
