Original Description
Shell small, similar in practically all shell characters to S. principii principii n. subsp. save in the character of the apical horn; apical horn greatly elongated, 0.4 total length, conical (12°), tip bluntly pointed.
Length 167µm; of apical horn, 67.0µm; of cephalis, 24.5µm; diameter of widest part of thorax, 83.5µm; of pores, 10.0µm. Distinguishing characters (rw): This subspecies is very close to S. principii principii n. subsp. and differs from it in the character of the apical horn which is 0.4 total length as against 0.06 total length. In other respects the two subspecies are identical and are separated in this report mainly upon the character of the horn.
Etymology: Latin longus + spina -ae = long spine
