Editors' Notes
[In 1887a Haeckel used the name Sethomelissa twice for very different Radiolaria. First it was considered a subgenus of Lithomelissa [1041:1207] and later [1041:1237] an independent genus. In Haeckel's earlier paper [1034:431] the genus was clearly defined as, ""Dicyrtida aperta triradiata"" but later [1041:1237] was stated to be ""Dicyrtidea triradata clausa"". The intent of the first definition is clear but the second one is an obvious error. Hence this generic name is invalid. [398]

No new name has been proposed as of 1996.]
